Ronda's Classes

This year I have decided to embrace the metals that offer beauty and affordability.  I hope by giving you the opportunity to work with different metals, you will be able to create affordable pieces to gift or sell. 

 

In this class you will learn to use a flat vice and weave wire for this unique bracelet.  We will combine copper and aluminum for added interest.  We will start the class with the basic straight weave in aluminum, then advance to the open weave in the second half of class.  The two pieces are then woven together to complete your bracelet.

When I found these Shiva shells, I knew I had to create a capture so that either side of the shell would be worn as the focal.  You will use copper gallery wire to frame your shell.  You'll then use a netting technique to capture one side, while the prongs on the gallery wire will secure the other side.  This is truly a two-sided pendant and can be worn showing either side.  We'll add three simple dangles and a bail to complement the pendant.  You'll receive a necklace so that you can wear your pendant home.

Additional Materials Fee:  If you would like to use sterling silver wire in this class, there will be an upcharge ranging from $20 to $30 to be determined based on market price in early 2027.  You must contact me directly at twistsnturns@msn.com or call 904-673-6494 by February 1, 2027 to preorder the sterling silver kit.

You will have your choice of copper or aluminum wire to create both bracelets in class.  The whimsical uses traditional braiding techniques with a twist.  You'll have your choice of crystals for your bracelet.  Then we'll move on to the Wave bracelet.  I have taught this bracelet for years using only metal.  I thought I'd change it up by incorporating leather.  I prefer using aluminum with this bracelet because it doesn't tarnish, so you don't have to worry about cleaning it and damaging the leather.  Both bracelets will be completed in class.
