Hello

For more than 20 years, Kristin has enjoyed making jewelry.  Frustrated over not being able to find teal-colored jewelry to wear when cheering for the then new NFL team, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kristin took a beading class at a local Michaels so that she could make her own jewelry.  A few years later, thumbing through an adult education flyer, Kristin found and joined a wire wrapping class offered at a local high school where she met one of the co-owners of The Great Bead Escape Retreat.  Kristin became a student at the retreat the next year and became fascinated with many forms of jewelry making.  Kristin is now proficient in Chainmaille, Micro Macramé, Kumihimo and Beading.  Kristin’s teaching experience began 10 years ago when she was invited to teach Chainmaille at The Great Bead Escape Retreat.  Two years later, after becoming self-taught in Micro Macramé, Kristin began creating and then teaching her own Micro Macramé designs at the same retreat.  Kristin is also a jewelry instructor with the Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute program at the University of North Florida and has recently been accepted as an instructor with the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts and the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
